Hand- dyed hessian comes in earthy shades and makes for interesting hand stitching particularly when using heavier yarns such as sari yarns, banana yarn and knitting yarns. It is great for framing other embroidery and also suitable for machine pulled work. I love to machine into hessian, it is particularly good for creating landscapes, not to mention using on the embellisher along with the many fibres such as banana fibre and silk noile.
