The fabrics in this section are ideal for experimenting and to introduce some texture in your work. They have all been used to create some great results in my students work whether used for hand or machine embroidery. The more open fabrics are great with the sari yarns, banana yarn, hemp and silk yarns. Draw some threads out of linen or hessian and hand stitch the heavy yarns using a large chenile needle. Only use shortish lengths of yarn on these fabrics as they will shred if too long a piece is used.
